Josh Avery Web Design

Projects for all

My project’s time and expertise range anywhere from two weeks to ten months to the continued distribution of content via social media.

My main focus is first: building a great web or mobile site with SEO in mind, second: linking social media with organic outreach in mind, and third: following up on every aspect of the design as the client sees fit.

Below is a collection of my most recent projects, with links to purview them yourselves. If there is anything you like, dislike, or just have questions about, please let me know in the contact section!

Mindfulness &

Mindfulness & is a WordPress blog and newsletter about how mindfulness can change the very way we think. The idea was to have a simple blog that was easy to post and manage directly on the WordPress app. A few customizations were made using plugins like the hide title plugin and the buy me a coffee donation plugin, but otherwise a very lightweight and minimal design.

Boutikia

Boutikia was a project I worked on while traveling full-time throughout Europe in cafes and hostel lobbies. Boutikia is a vacation rental business based in San Francisco with properties throughout California and Hawaii. The main goals of this site were to create a single brand for all of Boutikia’s properties in all locations, allow direct booking for all the properties, and build an entire site within a site with the San Francisco property: Willows Inn. The site theme was modeled after Ace Motel.

Poipu Gardens

Poipu Gardens is an extension of the Boutikia brand with units located on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Kauai. I began working on this site and social channels before Boutikia’s parent site and then migrated the content onto the parent site for better transparency for visitors. The main goals of this site were to showcase the property, the town of Poipu, and the entire island of Kauai, as well as provide an in-house direct booking option to capture more revenue than Airbnb and VRBO listings.

Nature's Best

Nature’s Best is a vacation rental management business located in beautiful Orem, Utah at the base of Mount Timpanogos. The owner operates two small full-service Airbnb / VRBO homes that are loved by guests and highly rated over time. The main goals of the site were highlighting the high ratings, converting guests to direct bookings, and increasing their average booking amount via SEO and Social Media. A full calendar sync between Airbnb, VRBO, and direct booking service Reservation Key was needed for this project too.

Avery's Ancients

Avery’s Ancients is a gallery of rare and ancient coins and artifacts from around the world. I began by building an e-commerce wireframe for the client but ended up just using the shop section as a gallery. Added Google iframes for this site as it was the best way for the client to edit the content on Google Sheets and Calender without having to log in to the website directly.

West coast electric sales

West Coast Electric Sales or WCES is an e-commerce store for electric and mechanical parts. The client came to me with the desire to build an inhouse online store for their manufacturer from the ground up. I used WordPress, Elementor, Woo Commerce, and many other plugins and assets to achieve this. A search tool was also added to cross reference the product’s many tags. The result is a work in progress, as all online stores are continuously changing and adapting to the market’s needs.

Baddest man alive

Baddest Man Alive or BMA is a lifestyle brand and e-commerce landing page. I was contacted due to my work in other online shops to make Mesa and Luara’s clothing line sellable online and eventually in-store. Working closely with the clients, I was able to achieve a website with great aesthetic and functionality and continue to ramp up for better product transparency and SEO exposure as well as seamless order processing and shipping integration.
